Here's what I have:

2 1000 watt rms subs
2 1000 watt rms amps
2 capacitors

With the goal being not to burn my truck to the ground, what's the best way to wire this stuff up?

I'm thinkin 0-2 guage wire to a distribution block, 4 gauge out to the capacitors, 4 gauge in/out of the amps and to the subs. Or am I dumb :redneck:

0 or 00 for everything that is power related.

Not only will your wires not get hot, it will be cleaner power.

Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth it.

MA audio cable is the ****. Yes, it is MA Audio, but if you cut it apart and count the strands vs other audio power cables, it is the best. Only way to get better is to use welding cable.

I was hopeing to avoid having to run the bigger wire. Oh well. Now where do I get a 0 to 0 distribution block:redneck:

The welding cable is probably less expensive...

Funny thing is, work "accidently" ordered 25ft too much cable back when I bought all this stuff a year or so ago :haha: I was just looking for a way to not have to run wire that big

Eh, It's under warranty a couple more years:cheer:

What are you trying to accomplish with it?
what kind of rig?
SPL Comp strictly or for SQ/SPL?
And the most important is what is your budget?
You get what you pay for in car audio... i dont know if you have ever heard a true 2000wrms system but the **** is LOUD!!!!
Anyway these are the subs id recommend for SQ/SPL, you will not find a better sub in this price range. These things get low and LOUD!!!! also there hand built in the USA :awesomework:
https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficarau...0_Speakers/0030_Q/product_overview.shopscript

As for an amplifier you have alot of choice's
Those Q's are rated for 1000wrms, but with the cooling option which is highly recommended by Fi they like to see around 1500wrms. Worst thing you can ever do to a subwoofer is buy an underpowered amp for it.
if you have the money and can wait for a while the preorder is a great deal

If you can wait id go with 2 rockford fosgate t10001bd's they put out right around 1500wrms each
they can be found on ebay for anywhere from 279 each for refurbs or 450 new each...

as for wiring
2 runs of 1/0
http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?category=Kolossus Fleks Kable
Some of the best wiring around, i can take my 4gauge and wrap it around may index finger 4 times.

So
2 Fi audio Q's
1 sundown 3500d or 2 t1001bd's
1 of these in the trunk http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/hc1400.aspx
1 of these http://cgi.ebay.com/TSUNAMI-X15HCAP...5|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1308|301:1|293:1|294:50
and a better alternator as theres going to be 300amps of draw on your charging system :haha:
Also Look at:
alpine Type R's
DC Audio Subs
Re Audio Subs
Image Dynamics Subs
Sundown Audio, Night Shade Subs
Digital Designs makes great stuff.

If your looking for a more budget system let me know lol :redneck:

lol DUR!!!!
just noticed you said "i have"
what kind of subs and amps?:haha:

It's all audiobahn. I don't remember the part #'s off the top of my head I just remember it was rated for 1000rms for each amp/sub (all right like 945 :redneck:). I've been biased towards them since they hooked me up with a 1000rms system for a trade show in high school and I never had a problem with their stuff.

It's going in a 07 silverado regular cab. It's just for shits and giggles, no comps for me.

I ran across knuconcepts last night and ordered there 0 gauge, 2 amp install kit with a 200 inline fuse and 100 dist. block fuses. :awesomework:

Ditch the caps. Waste of money and time to wire in.

Knuconceptz makes some nice ****:awesomework: Check out www.caraudio.com/forum. Tons of info and helpful people there.:awesomework:

I all ready made cap mounts in the box, so they're going in. Thanks for the link:cool:

1000 Watts RMS is not very much at all, 0 gauge would be over kill but to be safe you would be best to do this. 4 gauge would even work just fine.

My sub is supposed to have 2000 watts minimum to operate so i run a 2000 watt RMS soundstream amp to power my orion h2 2 ohm sub.

how many ohms are your sub? also how are you going to wire it? because depending on how you wire it will determine how much power your actually running.

Is your amp 0 OHM stable, 1 ohm, 2 ohm, ect???

I run 4 gauge wire to my soundstream 2000 watt rms amplifier with no cap or dist. block. I had it in my dodge dakota but now its in my honda civic HB with stock alternator, lights dim when i turn it up real loud but has worked fine for long time.

But i would def. get a cap so to take some strain off your alternator & then you should nto have problem with lights dimming or anything like that.

take a look at this cap

Shows your voltage and will show the amount of current the amps are pulling :stirpot:
