Notching trans pan?

Anyone ever notch their transmission pan for driveshaft clearance? I'm just trying to be a cheapass and avoid going the two-piece d-shaft route. It's a th350/np205, I need to chop about an inch out of the pan

Yes. Just make sure the filter clears.

Ya I did it to a 4l80e pan on a rig I built a few years back. As stated just watch the filter and valve body...
