is it true that when you switch from 10 spline to a 32 spline you have to get the case machined down?

we did this to hugh's....
though....I honestly can't remember if its the input or the front output (or both) that needed to be machined for the bigger bearing. (cuz we swapped his to the 32spl input, and 32 spline ford front output...)
it's super-easy to do....only have to open it up.....maybe .125"
