I have a 01 5.7 in my jeep and I am running only the o2 sensors at the manifolds. This trips my cel. Im not running a cat so I was thinking I could just weld in some bungs and put them after the muffler but without a cat could this make the ecm think the engine was running to rich and attempt to lean it out causing other problems?

Without a cat even if you install the second o2 sensors the cel will stil trip. Your only option is to see if they have whats called o2 trickers. They have them for the chev stuff I know. But its a little device that gives out the proper o2 sensor output to trick the pcm/ecm.
