With the new build I prolly don't have room for my old faithful trusty belt driven mini york so.......

What are you using?
How do you like it?
Do you use a tank as well?

I mostly use it to pump up tires and air mattress with an occasional impact wrench duty.

Thanks for the imput

I use a ViAir 400H. I also use a 2 gallon tank. It pumps out 2.5cfm at 150psi. It usually takes me about 4-5 minutes to air up my tires from 5 to 15psi.

It works pretty good. I've never had it fail on me in two years. I'm the air bitch after many a trail ride too. (30 minutes or more of continuous duty)

Never done air tools off of it, but have seen some folks run tools with the same setup.

Viair 450C (100% duty cycle) with a 2.5 gallon tank. I have never used air tools with it but I think with the tank it will get the job done. The one bad thing with running my lockers off of it I can't run it at high pressure. I have to use the ARB pressure switch (85-105? psi) and the tank and comp is rated to 150psi.

I am running one of the Tsunami MV-50 aircompressors from Pepboys/Schucks that is hardmounted under the hood next to my air filter. I have it plumbed into a 2.5gal tank that I have above the rear axle. This compressor is rated at 72LPM. I have used it to run airtools but they don't run for long at all until I have to wait to refill the tank. I am using a viair 110/150 psi pressure switch with mine. I also carry a 10lb Powertank so I can use that for the air tools.

Question: do you think that it would fit in the same footprint as the stock jack? I'm going to start carrying my Hi-Lift full time on my Jeep and was hoping to replace the silly stock jack with OBA.

Why don't you split the system and run the arb solenoids off a regulator? That way the tank can be at 150psi. Although my tank sits 130 and it works for some stuff but an impact or ratchet will run it down mighty fast. I'm thinking about adding my rear bumper into the system to add some volume

I don't think so. But you could cut that area out under the seat and make the compressor fit right there. There isn't anything under the seat to interfere. If you do that, you may want to think about waterproofing it, or extending the intake, and drilling holes in the little tub you make for it.

That is on my "things to do" list......at the bottom.:redneck:

I ran an ARB RDCKA that filled a 8 gallon rear bumper for a while, but after all the work to plumb/weld/wire, it just didn't have the cfm I was looking for. I could almost fill one 35" tire per tank, barely set a bead and it took forever to refill. Overall I was pretty unahppy with it. When I go buy a new setup it will probably be Co2.
