Subject: 1987 Chevy Suburban with Chevy zz4 crate motor. (specifications for the motor are attached)

This motor has an oil sending unit near the oil filter location and has another oil switch mounted at the rear top of the block (next to the distributor). I am leaking oil and it

When we get tough ones like this we use dye in the oil so you can see what origination of the leak.

Hey Crash,

Yea I added dye already on rev 2.0 of troubleshooting. Problem is once I clean the area off to see where it's leaking I have to drive the motor to get it to leak. Just revving(sp) it up in park won't do it. At that point when I get back home oil is all over the sensor, plumbing and manifold casting distributor stem etc.... Just a pain in the butt.

Interesting. We had a brand new Tahoe once that had an oil leak in that area. Ended up being a hole in the block from a poor casting.
