GM announces today that it will cut production of pick-ups and suv's due to a slump in sales and rising oil prices....no **** Sherlock.

Worse than all that though is that the Hummer line may be totally eliminated ...........SAY IT ISN"T SO! Whatever will we offroad with? molaugh

If they are still on the lots in the fall maybe they'll start giving them away? (Well, not literally give them away but sell them really cheap.)

Yup. I'd rock a 2WD Xcab chebby that gets upper teens and sell my Vitara that only gets low/mid 20's.

they ever start producing the H3 Alpha ( Vortec V8 in the smaller body Humma )

that would be the **** ... Small, 4:1 Tcase , V8...... drool

I know yall hate on the H2, but that sucks because our plant builds all the tires that go on the H2's. I forsee some rough times coming in the plant in the next few years. Hell our plant pretty much only builds light truck tires.

Tell them to build 44 red krawlers, problem solved.

I'd take a 42, oh who am I kidding I'd take a 44 and proceed to destroy chromo's like they are candy canes. skully

Hell I have tried to get them to build a 44 and a 42, but our bosses don't have any control over that kind of stuff. It comes from a higher person and I don't know who that is.
We are so far behind on tires in the shop I work in it's not even funny. We are struggling to meet the race deadlines we have. Hell we can't even build enough 39" Red labels, there is a huge waiting list I am told.
Our shop is seperate from the big tire room that builds all the Light truck tires. I used to work in there. The last year I built tires in there, I built over 61k tires.

That's right boys...better start swimming....

Yep...I'm by no means a doomsday kinda guy but with the trickle down effect that oil prices will cause I think GM closing a few plants will only be the beginning of Cole's problems in tire production.

I was talking with someone today, and was wondering how much they would give you off a brand new duramax (or any diesel) with diesel prices the way they are. I bet you could get a steal, cause they cant give them away now. My local gm dealer just layed off about 14 employees, Id says its tough when you dont sell any trucks.

Bill Heard in Sugar Land, TX has three sitting on the front row with yellow lettering on the sides saying "$12k off, 0% 60/mo."

I want a new crewcab pretty damn bad, but selling my '02 Dmax is more like giving it away.

Hell keep the 02, and buy the new one anyway.
