Please come out and support the fight to keep Aetna Mtn open for riding by showing up and signing the petition and riding on Saturday January 28th 2012. The TWRA is planning to shut the mountain down on March 12th. We need all the signatures we can get. If you love this sport and want to keep our lands open for riding please come out next Saturday January 28th. Thanks

Everybody that can needs to come and bring as many people as you can find! This is not a rumor its for real! So everybody come out and keep aetna mtn open.

Most of our rigs are down but gonna try to get a group of folks up to come throw down some signitures and hopefuly keep this place open for when they are back in action!

Tennessee Wildlife Resourse Agency. They are the ones who get the tax money on all off hwy vehicles in TN and are supposed to do something for the OHV community with it but just sit on it. They are also the game wardons and people who set bag limits and such. Guessing Mr. Stein has them in his back pocket as well.

Saw the link to the online petition posted over on Pirate. Here it is:

petition signed,

and a lenghty letter written, explaining how closing legal year round access to aetna mtn to offroaders will lead to the area becoming a meth and marijuana haven for the criminals that will continue to access the area.

So they can even shut down all riding at Aetna, even for the ones that are in the WeRock club paying yearly dues?

Technically, the WeRock club can still access their leased property. i'm not sure of the acreage of it, but my understanding is that is isn't that large, and generally used as an access point/secure parking area for Aetna Mtn public lands.

If we don't do something about this before long we will not have a place to ride. Does anyone have any idea on how many signitures you need for this to happen?

Petition side says; "Signature goal: 50,000". I'm not sure if this is the goal for just the site or the total sigs needed though. :dunno:
