So my wife's Audi A6 with 18's cannot survive being driven on the CRAPPY roads of Bham. Every wheel on it is bent due to large, thin AL wheels and low profile tires and the tires keep knotting from said **** roads. It is kinda small with the carseat in the back and we needs more room. She is looking at the Volvo XC90 SUV thing with an I5 motor and it seems reasonable. Any experience with this car or a place to buy good imports in town? Anybody every dealt with Hollywood Motors?

Tom Williams is only import dealer i've dealt with in bham... not sure if the sell vovlos in their master complex...

I think Crown is the volvo dealer. There are a few used ones in town that are in the price range. They seem to have good safety ratings and good fuel mileage.

Call Franklin Automotive on Acton road over by 280. They specialize in gay gag fag foreign cars. :woot:

Yeah, when did XC-90's become SUVs. They are nice cars, but a SUV? Back in the day they were called station wagons. Would a Subaru Brat without the back seats be a pickup truck?

I know its not a Volvo, but my wife drives a Toyota 4runner. Dang good car with a nice ride. You can get one loaded or a mid range with more options than we use like we got for a fair price.

My grandmother has one that she sales houses out of and the motor just went out on it, but it had 273,000 on the ticker. Thats the only thing that has went wrong other than oil changes. We put her another motor in and its still goin strong.

I agree, an SUV is something like a Lexus LX 470 or Landcruiser, IMO. But if you are stuck on a station wagon, at least get the one with the woodgrain package so there will be no question you are a full blown, one off, flaming, cigar smoking, rainbow decaled, soccer dad.

The end.

Thanks, glad my opinion on Volvo thread became a u should get this thread. When it comes to the wife and cars I let her pick what she wants, as long as it is not a total piece. Budget is 20k or less and most we found are in that range. If anybody works on them or has experience with Volvo's please let me know good or bad. I have never dealt with them, all I read is positive though

So just wanted to pass along to never use Donahoe Auto on Valleydale Rd in Pelham. They deal in imports, mostly Audi's. In the process of looking for a car we valued Jen's car for trade in. We got a clean carfax when we bought it used last year and when we were at the table on a trade in with another dealer they say the carfax has a front impact wreck on it. I am like no it doesn't I still have the carfax from when we bought it. Guess what, they gave us a carfax for another audi they had on the lot. Same year and model, vin is not ours though. So that is awesome. Since it is a wreck they want to give us half of blue book on it.

Bottom line is we are keeping it for a few more years because I am not going to give it away. Car is fine mechanically, no problems. Going to order smaller wheels and new tires for it and rock out.

prob no way to prove it.. but id at least make them have a bad day... thats been my approach lately...

That just SUX. Dealers will swap vin #'s all the time to get warranty work done I found out. So even if you buy a brand new vehicle, it might have already had warranty work ran on it's history.

I know a guy who knows some guys from Pearl River who can help with this little misunderstanding. :driving: :flipoff1:
