Okanagan ORV Park?
Okanagan ORV Park?
You read right, there is a group in Kelowna lobbying to get a designated ORV park in the Okanagan. WE are called Urban Rednecks Off-Road Association, and we've already got some real interest from local businesses and even media. As it stands right now, we do not have an actual website as it is under construction, but we have created a Facebook group for people to join and kind of keep tabs on our progress, as well as ask questions. I'll link you to our page just 'cause. CLICKY!
A little information that we've got so far: We've talked to Al at Canadian 4WD mag, and he wants to give us an interview before his next issue hits print. We've been in contact with the Northwest Mud Racing Association, and they are going to back us 100% with advertising and even cash donation. We have approached a multitude of local businesses and have even gotten cash donations this early in the game. We are putting together a very thorough action plan to approach the Integrated Land Management Board and the Ministry of Environment with to get tenure on a parcel of land. If this goes through and we are able to open an ORV park, we want to hold events and this is exciting for us. NWMRA said that they would LOVE to hold mud drags more often there and add the park to the circuit. We want to get a rock racing/cone dodging thing going too, because not everyone is down with mud racing.
The park would cater to all people with rigs of any size, with trails marked with beginner/stock all the way up to advanced/extreme. We would also have different designations in the mud pit with kind of the same thing in mind. We kind of don't want Joe Blow getting his stock truck sunk up to the intake in 44 ruts, you know?
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to join the Facebook group or ask here, I check back here normally once a day. Thanks for taking the time to read!
keep the good fight up guy's!!!!!:awesomework::awesomework::beer:
