OT: Chip for the Diesel

Can I get some opinions on a chip to increase the performance of my Chevy Duramax? So where would you go to buy it and what kind would you buy?
Would you let some one else install it? If so where would that be?

It has lots of power, but I would like to be able to tune it for higher gas milage when possible. Some times more power would work too

see if Skinney_pedal still has his Edge box for sale. And they're a piece of cake to install.

if you want something that you can change on the fly then get a edge w/ the attitude and juice but if not go for PPE. PPE produces the most power out of duramaxs. And you can do any programmer by yourself its all about how you want it set up for your needs.

So, I am looking at the PPE web site and this is what they show for a chip. Is this what it would look like?

It looks like an OBDII code reader. Does it just modify the program of the EEC or what?
I am new to this kind of performance enhancers. Back in the day it was about bigger cams, bigger carbs etc....

not a chance. But most people aren't up to messing with the next step up.. They just want to "plug and play"

this is very very very true. just takes more money and time to play with, but if you want to go fast fast....its the only way

i guess thats one of the best things about a diesel.. the more power you make (within reason) the beter the economy becomes..... esp when towing!
