Im putting full width axles under my cj5 and I am debating weather or not to outboard my springs. Anyone who has done it please let me know how you liked it and if you would do it again.:redneck:

You are going to have to i think. You can only go in as far as the spring pirch that is casted in the thirnd member. I think its like 31.5 from center pin to center pin hole on the full width.
Get the front diff from an '80 up FSJ narrow track (All Grand Wagoneers are NT just watch out for the vacuum axles in '81 to '86) and it will sit further in.
edit: DOH! CJ is RH dop! (XJ/MJ on the brain) '74 to '79 narrow track for correct side drop.
Only about 1/2 the '81 to '86 FSJs are vacuum disco. That's why I said to watch out for it. With a CJ, he needs LH drop anyways and the '74 to '79 are correct for that. Prior to that, the Wagoneer axles are closed knuckle, 5 lug and drum brake.
I already have the d60 and 44 from the j20 and not looking to use other axles. there width is not a problem for me and and there is enough room on the cast spring perch to redrill and move the spring over to stock cj width. I was hoping to hear from someone that has gone both ways and which way worked better for them for articulation and stability.
yea thats looks like what im going to do and I have already moved the rear axle back 16" and Ill move the front ahead 4" it will give me a 104" wheelbase.
