So, this weekend I picked up a welder... I've been using welders from all my buddies... Finally got my own...:cheer:

Nothing real special, Lincoln Pro Mig 135 with a small argon/co2 bottle... Got it off craigslist for $200...

It'll be nice to build **** without borrowing a welder...

Thanks again to everyone that has put up with my no welder having ass and hooking a brutha up...:awesomework:

Cool ....always nice when you get your own stuff

:awesomework: way to go and it looks like a good deal

You definately got a good deal, I just sold my 135 when I upgraded to the 211, got $300 for it with no bottle. It's a good little welder for the money.

135's are great lil machines---just be patient when welding larger material (3/16")....go slow and let it melt!!!

Thanks guys...

I've been using a Millermatic 180 and Lincoln 175, both on bottles for a bit...

At my place, having no garage and the only 220 on the trailer house being the dryer, I figured a nice 110 would take care of a lot of things for me...

The idle roll arm that creates the pressure on the drive wheel has some fatigue and the plastic it's made out of has a memory bend in it... So, the wire spools out with a pause... Went down to Pacific Welding Supply and ordered the new part from Lincoln... $1.51...:redneck:

The guy also told me he couldn't get it to weld worth a **** on the bottle... I asked if he changed the polarity and he had no idea what I was talking about... Got it home and hooked it up the right way and it welds great...

My oldest boy wants to use it already... He told me he wants a tig so he can fix his and his friends chromo bmx frames... :awesomework:

Sweet score Luey! My dad has one of those and it works great for small projects. If you ever need something thick done hit me up I'm nice and close.
Happy Fabbing!:cool::beer:

great price i picked up the pro series lincoln 180c at central welding for 850 and another 175 for my bottle off craigslist ..you made out nice deal i still need to get the cart though i am getting tired of totting the bottle in one hand and the welder in the other moving around the garage all the time plus the 50" extention i had to make for mine (no 220 in the garage :rb: have to run it from the dryer)

I believe you can weld chromo with mig, just doesn't look as nice. But you could probably use the tack-tack-tack method an it would turn out alright.

Just go down to Home Lowes:redneck: and buy one of those cheap $30 roll around tool carts---modify it so you can stand the bottle off the back, & stick the welder in the bottom shelf....That's what I did with my old Hobart 110V setup before I bought my MM210 machine! worked great, ended up selling it along with the old machine/no bottle for $375...:awesomework:

Thanks Chad, I may hit you up with some thicker stuff...:awesomework:

The dryer hook up is on the other side of the house from where I work on stuff... It would turn into a nightmare really quick...

I would like to learn how to tig and if I have the means to do it, the boy wants to try...:redneck:

Should be using it on some sheet metal toward the end of the week on the bus...:awesomework:
