Plasma Cutters

Alright I know a few of you have them. What you got and how's it working out for you. We don't have a need for one often but it seems lately that one would come in handy several times and now I've got a big job that would be perfect to use one on so I think I'll bite the bullet and get something in here. I got the usual Miller and Lincoln dealers right here close by. Any other recommendations? I want a pretty powerful one and I want to be able to use it later with a CNC table. Perfect opportunity for a rant Kelly!

I have hypertherm 1000. Have one at home and at the school. Both get used alot, but more at the school with 40 kids using it wide open. Consumables are also a little cheaper for the hypertherm I believe.

Here is mine. Water jet table with high definition plasma. It the largest water jet table in the state of Alabama. It will run you around $850,000.

I have a thermal dynamics, actually 2 of them now, 1 for hand work and 1 for the table. I'm kind of pissed I bought my table now that I saw the price range that thing is in chad molaugh

I should have gone that route :flipoff1:

FWIW the 1 torch that my unit offers is nice. actually the other guy in town with a table has a 101, my hand one is an 81, my cousin's is a 101 and my table has a 151 with the machine torch. if you want a table, go at least 101 (1" or 1.25 rated, cant remember)

I lust a hypertherm very badly... everytime I get my sheilding gas refilled I droop on them at Airgas drool

I haven't looked at their units. what does an 1" rated one run$? what are the consumables like$?

I got my thermal dynamics 81 (7.8" rated) for 1755 shipped and it came with a set of consumables and a victor oxy cutting set, (2 regs, torch) from cyberweld. fast shipping, cool to deal with.
