picking up a new ranger 900 crew this weekend.

Dealer has offered a 4 yr extended warranty for 20 dollars a month. 1200 total.
I plan on adding a small lift, wheels and tires.
Worth it or not?

I bought my XP900 from Shoals outdoors with the 5 year extended warranty and have had 2 axles replaced under it. I paid an additional $1000+ for it and two axles at this point which would have been less than $1000. Unless you are going to beat the crap out of it and use the higher valued portion of the warranty, I wouldn't do it. I also believe that when you are having work done under warranty, they do not get in any hurry to fix it due to slow speed the reimbursement of funds for the work. :dunno:

PolariStar Warranty cancled the entire warranty on the one I bought from BJ. They claimed that the Donaldson cannister style air filter let dirt in and killed the motor. the Donaldson was plumbed in to the intake off the factory air box. Factory air box and filter was all still intact and being used. Donaldson was just a prefilter. On top of that the air intake had nothing to do with motor failure. 6 oil pan bolts were out of it. They just used the filter setup as a reason to void the warranty.

Nothing was replaced. Donaldson was bolted in the bed and ran to factory air intake that still ran the factory air filter.

That is unreal. Who did he bring it to? Pelham Motorsports are MoRoNsssss. Both times I have brought mine in for the axle warranty work, it took them between 3-5 months to repair. :flipper: them

The factory warranty is a joke money grab. They get to charge more and give nothing back. Aftermarket warranty or nothing. Then get a good dealer that will go to bat for you. on the factory warranty they make the shop swallow labor and parts at cost so they don't make any money. Shop manager is dumb to do the work unless he is just trying to keep a tech busy. Aftermarket warranties pay full retail and full labor rate. Great way for a shop to make their margins and keep customers happy if that's what they want to do. Warranty companies for the most part also take the word of the dealer as long as it can be backed up with pictures and argued feasibly. I bought my RPM1 simply for engine failure. I haven't had a failure, but if I do I wanted that safety net there. I change oil regularly, keep receipts on oil and filters and hope that will be enough.

Basch Brothers in Cullman. I can't say anything but good things about the guys there. They did everything possible trying to get it handled under the warranty. Ended up filing it on an insurance claim. After claim was done they had it done in a week. I will refer anyone to them for sales or service work. Just one of the many problems that came with buying a "race ready" ride.

I have been doing business with Ralph Basch for at least 30 years. When I started selling them, it was Basch Brothers Hardware. A great family, 100% recommend them.

Completely agree. They do what they say and arent going to bullshit you. Nathan Basch actually bought the SAS S-10 Blazer that Haley built for me.

6 month factory warranty and full coverage insurance is why I went with. Saved me 1200. This thing is basically going to be used as a golf cart. Family wagon.

Blame anything major on a wreck and insurance will cover.

Ya, also during that 6 months you have the opportunity to go somewhere that sells aftermarket warranties and buy one for like half what a polaris warranty is. I had them do an inspection and sign off on my machine being legit 4 months in and got an aftermarket warranty then. If you aren't scared of losing an engine, just pocket pay all the small dumb stuff $200 at a whack and don't file an insurace claim for anything less than about 5K in damage
