The factory warranty is a joke money grab. They get to charge more and give nothing back. Aftermarket warranty or nothing. Then get a good dealer that will go to bat for you. on the factory warranty they make the shop swallow labor and parts at cost so they don't make any money. Shop manager is dumb to do the work unless he is just trying to keep a tech busy. Aftermarket warranties pay full retail and full labor rate. Great way for a shop to make their margins and keep customers happy if that's what they want to do. Warranty companies for the most part also take the word of the dealer as long as it can be backed up with pictures and argued feasibly. I bought my RPM1 simply for engine failure. I haven't had a failure, but if I do I wanted that safety net there. I change oil regularly, keep receipts on oil and filters and hope that will be enough.
