whats the best way to check for a bent spring? i noticed today that my truck looks like it is sitting lopsided, and i measured to the frame. from the ground to the frame, the right front is 3/4" lower than the left front, and the right rear is 1/2" lower than the left rear. when i was at evans, i hit a log that was in the road pretty hard with my RF tire, i was probably doing 10 or 15 mph. is this the most likely problem?

Sounds like a frame n ot a leaf spring:mad:

Just kidding:haha:

Uhhh... just look at the spring... does it look bent?

I consider leaf springs to be a normal wear and tear item on a rig that gets wheeled a lot. The amount of flex and various stresses we put them through means they're going to bend, sag, break, fold like a taco, etc. It's not totally off the wall to think that you might have a spring on one side that's sagging more than the other or possibly a kink in one of the springs that's making your rig sit a little higher on the one side. Really the only thing you can do is look and make a determination.

I've found that it's pretty easy to bend front main leafs on my rig because the shackles are furthest out in the front and if I'm not paying attention, I can run them into things easily. I think it would be different on a toyota or a Jeep with a shackle reversal.

X2....each time I look at my truck it sits differntly. after coming out of the Rock Garden at Reiter I was sitting tilted to the passenger side. I dropped a tire and it stretched the driver spring a bit. after about a week of sitting it has sagged back to normal.
