Looking for someone in North Alabama that does good Powdercoating ??? Any Info :dblthumb:

Not to derail but a buddy of mine bought a new buggy and the powder coat got damaged a bit. No big deal, but its chipping away like crazy from there. Is that
normal or is it a low quality powder coat job? Getting close to that stage with my build and having second thoughts on painting vs powder coat.

Flaking off is definitely not normal. It should take rocks or metal to knock it loose from the tubing. I've pushed trees out of my way and drug the rails in the dirt with only minor scuffing that can be rubbed out with aluminum polish.
I've seen professionally applied paint jobs with automotive paint raked off against the first tree it hits.

Some places cut costs by not preping the surface. Look where the powder came off. I bet the metal is slick. That frame would have to be sand, media, or soda blasted to give the powder somthin to stick to. Daves powder coating is the best in this area. They did my beadlocks and diff covers. When they do it, it doesn't come off. 618-543-9250

This is why I asked the question....I have saw several that had a very light coating on them and where it almost looked two toned...I dont mind to pay the extra cash for a good job !!!

I was wondering the same thing. I would imagine that prices could very quite a bit depending on color used and the amount of prep work that has to be done.

Just had a chassis done in red and black and headers ceramic coated by performance coatings plus in Joplin, Mo for 700. Looks great too.
