I was out wheeling the other day , got bound up in some roots and turned the wheel left and something made a pop sound. I now have power steering only turning right.?? any ideas??

Some specs on the rig would help :awesomework:

the rig is a 67 wagoneer no doors, chopped top full cage, bobbed rear with 3/4 ton chev axles, sb 350, 36 swampers, push pull type steering.
The fluid is full, the box is still solid on frame, and nothing seems to be bent, broken or damaged.(other then the orginal question)

on the top of the power steering box there is a plate with 4-5 bolts on it,if I was to pull that would I find gears in there? (broken teeth??)

WHen you remove that plate--thats the top of the sector shaft and you can see the teeth--well kinda...

There's like 3 "teeth" in there. Kinds looks like a "birds foot" for lack of a better description. I really don't see how it would be possible to break one of those, but you can't hurt it by opening it up for a look.

The problem is gonna be in the spool valve more than likely. That box is cheap and easy to get, just yard it out and go find a used one.
