I have been running MTR's for a few years now, and love them. I want to go slightly larger, 35-37", and want to go to a 17" rim size. Why is it that Goodyear wants like, 140 more dollars for a 17" wheel size? If you HAD to think of pure material, it is less! With Swampers, and a few others, it add anywhere from 5-20 dollars, at most. BFG is another one that has a huge jump in pricing. The guys at Goodyear in Monroe (Taylor... :; ) don't know why, either.

its because the demand is higher. most people who have 35's and 17's are full size trucks because they come stock with 17s. With barely any lift they can put those bigger tires on it. since more people do that than people with 15's going to 35s, it makes sense business wise to jack it up cuz people will pay it. swampers doesnt go up that much because they deal with extreme offroad tires more than just mud terrains. goodyear and bfg are daily driver muds. that means swampers dont get the huge jump in demand cuz almost as many people buy 35/15 as do 35/17. gotta love the rules of supply and demand :kissmyass:

i think its due to the fact that they have to build the tire differently, and it's probably harder and more expensive the larger rim size. just a guess though. could just be a mark up cuz theyre "cool."

one point that may well apply to the MTr's and the BFG's, is the tire built for 17" rims are a higher load rated tire than their 15" rim counterparts...
load rating = $$$ also...
