for a long time, my toyota has occasionally had a really hard time running. basically... it sputters a bunch and is not responsive to the gas pedal, and the rpm just flutters all over the place when steady gas is applied. runs super rich when this happens. i've found that it most often runs like this when it's humid outside.

there's too many variables. i considered the MAF/AFM, TPS, but I also consider fuel line leak, or o2 sensor... or anything! At first i thought it was a blown headgasket, but this isnt a constant problem. sometimes the toy runs like a dream, and other days it can barely creep down the street. if anyone can help, please do. man oh man i will appreciate any help. thanks.

Since you didn't mention it, check your ignition stuff. Distributor, cap, rotor, coil, wires, ignitor, etc. It's "running rich" because it's not burning the fuel it's getting.

thanks man. yea... i spent like about an hour toggling with that stuff last week but i had to run back to school. this weekend i will finish with all new plugs, new distributor stuff. might be the coil, too. i dont know. all i DO know is that i will be VERY happy when i finally solve the damned problem.:D
