Can somebody give me the quick down low on how to adjust the Prodigy brake controler? I finally got it tossed in my rig and will be using it in the am....

Adjusting the Power to the Trailer
Brakes (Prior to setting Boost)
Once the control has been securely mounted within the
0 to 70-degree range, it is necessary to set the power
needed to stop the trailer during a braking event.
1. Connect trailer to tow vehicle.
2. With engine running hold manual full left and set
Power Knob to indicate 6.0
3. Drive tow vehicle and trailer on a dry level paved
surface at 25 mph and fully apply manual knob.
✓ If trailer brakes lock up:
❑ Turn power down using power knob.
✓ If braking was not sufficient:
❑ Turn power up using power knob.
4. Repeat Step (3) until power has been set to a point
just below wheel lock up or at a sufficient force as
to achieve maximum braking power.
5. Using the brake pedal, make a few low speed
stops to check the power setting. Trailer braking is
initiated and terminated via the stoplight switch.
When the brake pedal is released, trailer braking
will cease.

With the boost OFF

Set the gain (wheel on the right) to the middle. Then crank it down just a bit.

Then drive a ways and crank the knob on the bottom a ways to the left to heat the trailer brakes up. About 200 feet or so.

When your brakes are nice and warm, keep cranking the lever on the bottom to the left and adjusting gain higher until the trailer brakes lock up doing about 20 mph or so. I usually back it off a smidge after the brakes lock up at 20mph.

I tow with my ZJ and run the boost at level 2. With your truck, it may be a b1 or b2. But you shoudln't need that much. The boost really helps at highway speeds, but in stop and go traffic, it sucks donkey dong. I usually turn it off in stop and go traffic and then turn it back on when I get to highway speeds.

Cool--thanks guys. I will try to adjust it on my way to work.....:awesomework:

Like Karl said, warm them up before you make the actual adjustment. I don't use the boost at all, it's just annoying with such a light trailer (~6k lbs). I can see it being a good thing to have when your trailer outweighs your tow rig though.
