My flat bed pretty much fell apart on me today, so I have decided to garage the rig for a while and build a new bed for starters. (more to come, just need $$$)

How bed was... (Pic comin soon)

Now I tore it back apart and starting from scratch

Unnecessary brackets for new plans... Gotta go

Next on list... Replacement of the bent and ripped crossmember

Today I got some more done on the pile....

I had to get some gas for the welder and made it to central just in time :awesomework:

Cut and laid out the basic frame for the new bed... 2x2 .095.. 30ft=$60

Next I finished cutting the rear crossmember out and grinding it clean...

This is the new crossmember/bumper/tow hitch :fawkdancesmiley: FREE from junkyard I used to work at. (needs some cut and fab, but I think it will work)

I also heard through the grape vine that the santa who lets me borrow tools will be stopping by my garage sometime this week... more to come on that later

ANY IDEAS?!? some feedback on my design would be great! Since this is my first real project...
