Well, I think I've decided how to run a v8 in my YJ, and still pass WA vehicle emissions. Run propane, as propane powered vehicles are exempt.

Probably won't happen for a while. I'll want to rebuild a motor with higher compression, and a good cam for propane. I'm thinking 351 stroked to 393 with 11 or 12:1 compression.

I also have a couple of links to contribute if others are researching this.

Has full kits with new parts:

I would appreciate any input about setup and tuning. Especially for a SBF.

I have a 4.0 HO jeep I6 now.

I like the low end torque it has a lot. Also the ability to lug it down and have it keep running. I'm leaning towards low end torque I guess.

I'm going to assume that just by virtue of it being a v8 it will come alive at higher RPMs and have more total power than I have now.

Depends on how you build it. Put a huge cam in it with 200cc intake runner heads and she'll wanna rev. Put some conservative yet good flowing heads, and a nice cam in it... and it'll use that extra stoke to make some serious low end torque. I bet it would like some AFR 185s.
