ps steering cooler

im running a modified gm ps pump with a resy do i need a ps cooler?

Yes, coolers are always helpful. Try and get a big pass through type cooler so it doesn't limit flow. Or just get a reg tranny cooler that uses BIG lines. Like -8 or so.

Rev Run had a good "words of wisdom" today...

" You cannot do the minimum and expect maximum results."

I think that apply's here and pretty much in anything related to building a rig laughing1

hey P :flipgotcha:
hell i was just wondering where i can put it on my list to do before this weekend the reason i asked the yoda i had didnt have one and the goat that i got from mason didnt eithier

Basically..
Its not a MUST have item to make teh system function..
I'm not running one...yet.

and i don't think P has one on his buggy.

Bottom line it will keep the system cooler and more efficient all while prolonging the life of your pump :dblthumb:
Just don't put one of the cheapo tranny coolers on it with tiny fittings that will restrict your flow, creating heat, thus canceling each other out...

I've always had one buggy and Turd son :gtfo: I've already spoke to Lay on the phone, he should be about done putting one on his right now. :flipoff1:

You can make one pretty cheap and efficiently by capping a length of tubing, taping it for hydraulic fittings, and welding or machining heat sinks on or through it. Keep the ratio of tubing ID relative to hose ID to not drastically change flow rates or create a bottleneck. Pressure test it with air and soapy water.

Might not be as good as Matt O's Howe set up, but near free and better than nothing.
