I know most all the SE guys know and are watching the Tellico issue very closely, I figured Id pass some stuff along for out of state folks on the boards that may one day wanna
wheel Tellico.

hey p, ive already rsvp'ed for the event, im at rv site number 30 at crawfords.......danny said they was still a few rv sites left and a cpl of cabins left; this was last monday.......if anybody was going, and wanted to caravan up, planning to leave on the 3rd and return on the 6th.......im stayin in the new hauler, and taking the rhino........

Damn... so Lower 2, 7, 9, and part of 8 are all closed this year and won't open til April 09...

that blows, they must have known I was about to get out of school this summer

1. A one-year closure of Lower Trail 2 (from the intersection with Road 420 west to Road 402), Trail 7, a portion of Trail 8 (from the intersection with Trail 9 to the intersection with Trail 10A), and Trail 9 in the Upper Tellico OHV area which prohibits operating motor vehicles on these trails during the closure period and sets penalties for violating the provisions of this Order.

2. A seasonal closure of the Upper Tellico OHV Area which prohibits operating motor vehicles on trails within the Area during the period between January 1 and March 31 each year and sets penalties for violating the provisions of this Order.

I'm guessing this went into effect Jan. 1, 2008. Is it not closed this year?

I seriously think you are running 3-4 months behind the times. Are you stuck in a time warp?

I don't know if any of you have gotten an email from the USFS but it's bad. I just recieved a proposed plan outlining the closure of many trails at Tellico. Examples:

1) Schoolbus GONE
2) Slickrock GONE
3) Lower 2 GONE
4) If Helicopter Pad bypass cannot be successfully bypassed... GONE
5) The Ledge at Peckerwood GONE

Plus they will have closures after heavy rain events with the usual annual closure for the winter months.
