quick yota help!!!

my dad's truck (22re) is al put back together, but for some reason when you put it up in the rpm's (2-3000) it wants to die or it sort of shuts off almost like a governor or something, what's going on? is he missing a vacuum line or is something else not hooked up?

Could be a bad EGR valve. Block off the EGR pipe at the rear of the upper intake plenum w/ something and see if it still does it.

needs a knock sensor, he said it came up in the codes when he ran it i guess

wouldn't worry about that:flipoff: ....mine comes up with that code and has always come up with that code

It should put it in limp mode if thats whats wrong. Lack of power, poor economy, etc.
