So with all this crap weather what tricks have you seen or done that worked well to help with the mess and the clean up with your wheeling rig.

Tonight Im going to put the roof panel back on mine and also all the clear rear plexi piece's I have for a firewall behind the seats. That should help a ton , wish I had a big sheet of clear left over for an impromptu windshield... I think MattO got all the remnant's of that I had. I was thinking garbage bag's over the seat's and WD40 all the under carriage and axle -etc. to make washing the mucky muck off easier /quicker.

Anything else you guys can think off :dunno:

May sound gay but Pam should work well on the undercarriage - works like a sumbitch keeping and getting getting bugs off the leading edges of flying machines anyway :dblthumb:

I am in the same boat with ya man. It is fun as crap to turn it loose on the mud, (NOT IN THE MUD HOLES) but that crap gets every where. I have been thinking about using speed glass for a windshield with a lot of rainX on it and I have a wind jammer for a jeep that I use for a bag glass. My urgent needs are for windows of some sort. I am looking for some fine mess material that mud will hit and not go thru. I think I could use some sort of wax to make it even more repellent. Just thinking out loud.

Not near enough to make winshield, plus you couldn't see out of it after a day of wheelin because it scratches so easy. Speed Glass is the **** for a winshield because it doesn't scratch like lexan. I think Gregg C has speed glass for his winshield. It is not cheap, but it is the best. Outside of having a roof and firewalls the only other think to keep the weather out is to wheel a full bodied rig that can be enclosed :flipoff1:

Im not worried about in the moment... more like the clean up after the fact. Tired of spending more hours cleaning my rig then I am spending riding it. **** gets old this year for riding has been messy !

WD 40 is the way to go. Thats what it was designed for anyway. Water Displacement Test 40, not lube :****:

Buy it in the gallon jugs and put it in a spary bottle and coat everything down. Been doin it on mud trucks for years and it still works. Alot of dirt track guys do it also to make cleanup easy.

I sometimes use Mud-X and it works very well. The problems I've encountered
with using Mud-X, Pam and WD40 are I'm usually riding for a weekend or not
cleaning the buggy until the next day, so one of two things happen. Either the mud
gets a chance to dry or its so wet that it requires several reapps during the day
to stay effective. Most dirt trackers race for a couple hours then get to cleaning.
The ultimate solution is to pay someone else to clean up my fun. :dblthumb:

WOW........funny you post this TODAY..........I put me a LEXAN WALL on the roll cage behind the seats of my ZUKI last night !!

So now it has a FULL LEXAN WALL behind the seats, a BIKINI TOP over the aluminum roof panel, and a FACTORY WINDSHEILD....complete with functioning WIPERS !!

But........... I still have open sides...."EXCEPT FOR ROLL CAGE"....so I have NO WAY to put doors on it

But I think it will be a LOT better now that the rear tires cannot SLING MUDD directly into the cab with me...........and PACK my dash full of MUDD like it did on the mudd track........

that SUCKED ASS cleaning that CRAP out !!

I also put some more lexan panels under the hood on the tube fenders to try and keep some of the **** off the engine too :dblthumb:

I will get too TRY OUT all of my MUDD PROOFIN SHEEEOT on this ride !!

OH YEA ,and for EXTRA CREDIT........I will have a TARP, and a FULL RAIN SUIT in the ZUKI ........ :****:

......................................................... :fish:......... :driving:..........

Buncha pussies in here... Its just rain, mud, ect... By a rain suit, rubber boots and go wheel... Have a change of dry when ya get back.

As for mud-proofing your ****, dont do it... just stay at home and dont worry bout it getn durty.... :flipoff1:

On our dirt track car we use LIQUID TIDE clothes detergent mixed 1/2 with water in a pump up sprayer. We usually don't get to wash it till the next day (when dry) the tide makes a film on anything it is sprayed on. even the next day spray with pressure washer and clean as before.

molaugh Don't pick on P today laughing1

I do know how you feel - for the first year 1/2 I had my latest rig I tried like hell to keep it looking decent. Repainting the cage and undercarriage about every 2 or 3 rides and the like but have all but given up now since I don't have one straight body panel on it anymore
