Which would be better for work and play?

Is the Ranger built like the RZR only with a utility bed or is the suspension different?

I want to be able to go play as well as haul tools for work and decoys for duck huntin, but I dont want to be limited to 45 mph.... Most of my work related stuff is ran on dirt roads occasional mud to get to oilfield locations, but can be 10 to 15 miles away at times so being able to drive a distance is a must

So I guess what Im asking is would a RZR's bed space be big enough to haul say a bag of decoys or would a Ranger keep up with a RZR?

the 900 series Ranger/RZR for reference in case there are any size differences in models

Thanks in advance for your opinions

I have went from rzr, ranger, back to rzr. I loved all the room the ranger had and the fact that you stayed very clean in it, but it was just to top heavy for some of the trails we ride. I don't use mine for any work so the bed space doesnt matter to me. With the rzr a medium sized cooler and small tote has go my bed maxed out on space if that helps at all.

it does in fact, thanks for the opinion.... Ive pretty much decided on a 900 no matter which one I get, Im going to go drive a couple see if I can choose one

I'd opt for the Ranger if you plan on getting any real work use out of the vehicle. A RZR will probably tote a small bag of decoys just fine... but that's about it.

The RZRs are more capable on the trail for sure, but the new XP 900 Ranger has bridged a lot of that gap that used to exist between then Ranger 800s and RZRs. Still not comparable in capability, but I think you'll be able to get around just fine. I know a few friends who wheel their Ranger 900s and love em.

I guess it depends really on what you want more - off-road ability or work....

I have had both, the rzr is hands down more fun to ride. The ranger is wonderful as a tool and it goes surprisingly good for a top heavy machine.
I rode/drove a 900 ranger alot a couple weeks ago, and I was impressed at the upgrades over the 800. It is not as powerful as I would have hoped but
Very nice. I live on 100 acres with lots of choirs, all this taken in account I would buy a 900 ranger. Because I would work it far more than ride it on trails, and
When you do take it out, get some doors and some bigger tires and you will follow anyone else.

Re: Ranger vs RZR ???

I might would look at a Can Am

Also, the mid size 800 is more nimble and just as fast as 900

Have you drove the mid 800? Is it more stable? Suspension any good? And your saying it is pretty quick, I know it's also a good bit cheaper. :driving:
