I have an '04 Tj and I just put an 8.8 in. It is currently set up with a long arm kit and the rear track bar isn't adjustable, so my question is, can I just cut off one end and weld a threaded insert in the tube for a hiem or would I be better off to just get some tube and fab a new one, or should I just leave it off?

Cut off the end and weld a heim joint at the axle.

I've been procrastinating on this for a LONG time. My stock track bar isn't long enough, and rubs on the exhaust, but I'm a lazy bastard.

Or, you could get an RE adjustable one for ~$130 and never have to worry about it. Even if the heim wears out, it isn't a big deal. You do need a trac bar back there unless you triangulate your rear suspension.

RE's track bar is now up around $160 and I can get the hiem and bung for around $30, So I think I will go that route, we'll see tomorrow when I cut the end off of the original, if it's too thin then I may have to bend up a piece of tube. :D

Yeah, even if it is too thin. I'll trade you a piece of .120 wall 1.5 DOM for a 12 pack of brew.
