New to the whole toyota world and figured you guys would help point me in the right direction.
I got my engine rebuilt a few weeks back and it is a good bit more peppy than it was. That being said i sheared the teeth off of the small gear in my tcase this weekend and weighing my options. The t case has lasted for 5 years in this configuration. Figure it was a combination of new engine and worn out gears.
i am currently running 4 wheel steer 1 tons 4.10 spooled, chromo shafts, Slightly built 4.3 with a turbo, th350 trans and a toyyota forward shift tcase with 4.7 gears 23 spline. Don't know which brand gears are in it as i did not build it. All i know is they they are 23 spline 4.7 with a 23 splint Bobby Long rear output

I have considered swapping to a built dana 300, or putting an atlas in it but would not be able to clock the atlas flat due to narrow frame rails being a single seat chassis.

I know either way that if i stay with the toyota tcase i will more than likely be on borrowed time with the built turbo 4.3 and my case is the weakest link in the drivetrain, but my next option is rebuild the case i have. No building new cross members, no new driveshafts, no clearance issues, its just install gears and ride. My question is which brand/company to go with if i rebuild. a few of the ones i have seen for sale offering toyota 4.7 tcase gears.....

1.Advanced Adapters- haven't read much on these
2.Marlin- Seems like these guys were the OG's of toyota upgrades and still seem to have a 100% quality product with a 1 year warranty
3.Trail Gear- Newer company with what seems to be good product and a 100% No questions ask LIFETIME WARRANTY!!! This would be hard to pass up.

Thanks for the help guys
This may belong in tech instead of general discussion if it needs moved feel free

Re: Strongest Toyota T Case Gears....

It sounds to me, you already have the beefiest 23 spline. What it a chromo 23 spline? If so, you should just build a stronger t-case. A buddy on mine is building a 1 ton Toyota, its got the Toyota 3.4 swap, so he went ahead and put a atlas in his.

Re: Strongest Toyota T Case Gears....

yeah i agree Kev but was wishing someone could talk me out of having to drop the coin on an Atlas. Ha
Another option could be a JB conversions 3:1 NP205 Lomax kit

I'd buy a set of trail gear 4.7, while saving up with the plan to get an atlas or 205.

Then, when/if you break the yota case again, warranty the gears, sell the new gears you receive, and swap something else in the buggy.

Personally, I would not do this. waste of time and money. Let it sit and ride your other buggy. Time you buy a set of gears, put them in, install t case, ride, break, pull case, remove gears, send off for warranty, wait two weeks, put them for sell, sell them fast or get most of your money back, ship, buy new case, install new case.

You see where I am going with that. Save your time and money.

Ah, didn't realize he had another buggy to ride.

Yeah, pull that yota junk and swap in something suitable for the rest of the drivetrain!

Yeah yall are right. I was hoping someone could talk me into keeping the yota case. Kevin. Do you run a 3.8 or 4.3 atlas? Have you swapped in the auto trans yet?
Anyone know the measurement from the center of input to the outer edge of the case. I've found all of the other dimensions except that one

Atlas it is. Keep an eye out for a passenger drop. Kevin, hurry up and put you auto in where I can figure out if I need the 4.3 or 3.8

4:3 all the way

Gona be a tight fit if it fits at all. Got 12" from middle of shaft to the frame rail. Atlas is 17.5 inches wide. Anyone know the measurement from input to outside of case? If booths side are symmetrical I would assume the measurement to be 13.54 inche

Atlas 3.8... now for the fun part trying to make it fit. Who is ready for a fab night? I'll supply beer and wings!
