Rebuilding Saginaw steering box...

Does anybody have any firsthand experience rebuilding a Saginaw power steering box? I need to put some new seals in the box and I am debating doing a full rebuild instead of just doing the seals. I have looked at a few write ups and it looks like kind of a pain, just wondering how bad it really is...

you can get a rebuilt box at most parts houses.:awesomework:

I drilled and tapped mine and don't really feel like doing it again, plus I don't really want to drop $150 on one, especially since there really isn't anything wrong with it except the leaks...

if you decide to do this get a good micrometer that can read .0001".

How old's the box in question??? Usually the leak will be a result of some wear in the box....sector shaft play???

I was told it was from a YJ, so late 80's-early 90's.
