Rebuilding trans

Anyone on here ever rebuilt a AX5 transmission from a jeep?

My brothers got a 94 wrangler, he was driving home one day and went to downship while coming to a stop sign. The trans was stuck in 5th gear and would not budge.

He tore it all apart, appears one of the gears broke, hes guessing the broken pieces is what caused him not to be able to shift it.

Does not really look tough to fix but just wanted to see what others opinions are? I know he wants to replace the seals,bearings & synchros while hes in there.

We have tried to look for some write ups/tutorials on the net but no such luck, anyone know of any?

AX5 doesn't have a very good reputation. Parts are available through many online retailers. I don't know of any writeups. For my '81, the best writeup is the Factory Techinical Service manual. It would be worthwhile to invest in one for his year. Way better than Chilton, Haynes, ANY of the others.
