I just finished my resivoir for my buggy. Full hydro system with 2.5 inch double end ram. My total capacity with cooler is just under a gallon. Is this sufficient to keep my fluid cool and fed etc? I am using elixir racing fluid hardline reccomended. Levels don't fluctuate much since it's a double ended ram. Same in same out I suppose. Anyways let me know your thoughts.

should be good, reservoir design is important too.

as always more is better.

pics of res?

I'll see if I can get one. It's kinda an upside down pyramid. It holds a little more than psc larger resivoir. It uses their base and cap then I built the I between to get more capacity out of my space.

Baffles? Inlet and outlet location?

I'll postmine to contribute

Built a new 1/2 gallon reservoir out of a new oil filter can, some fittings, some perforated sheet for internal baffling, and a steel radiator filler neck and 7psi cap.

The baffling is ellipse shaped cutouts of perforated sheet, stacked and tacked. The ellipse shape makes the baffle sit at an angle like \ / \ /

I welded female couplings for the retun and suction line.

On the return line, I put a 90 on the inside so the fluid will "spin" around the inside wall of the res, hopefully to keep the fluid from aerating

I got the steel filler neck from http://www.fillernecksupply.com

This seems to have solved all my steering problems.

Also added a filter to the system, it's just a head i got from discount hydraulic hose or surplus center.

I don't have any baffles. My input is in the bottom into a paper oil filter then goes out to the resivor. The out line is in the bottom. I don't have photo bucket anymore so I'm not sure how to post

What's the average temp for a DE ram trail riding?

mine didnt' get over about 120 last trip to gmp.

Before I built the new reservoir, it would hit 200 pretty easily.
