There was a time not so long ago that my jeep was streetable. It never ran well enough to drive, but it could have in concept :redneck: Now, I got to thinking the other day... What if I could make some god awfully ugly easily boltonable fenders that could be used on the occasional nice day to take a jaunt around town. (This would make the weifallo quite happy as an added bonus)

If this is the starting point...

Tube could be bent to match the original fender line, and another tube could come off that to make the flare portion similar to this...

It could then easily be skinned and bolted on to the tube running along my hood line with something like this

The rear could follow the same basic design.

Obviously these would never be used on the trail. Just as a way to enjoy the jeep every now and then when the sun is out and the temp is blazin. Again, I know they would be butt fugly... But would it work?

Thoughts? Ideas?

I had to do em on my toy. I narrowed the nose 6 inches and the 38.5's stuck WAY out there...I just bent some 1.0 tube and skinned em. Drove it everywhere every weekend for 4 months and no problem. Hopefully yer full hydro will lend itself to street driving.

I'll see how the hydro reacts soon enough. Prolly take a little learning curve, but assume city driving would be doable... I'll just have to find out the hard way :redneck:

I'm contemplating something like this F/R, detachable.

In my personal opinion you would get pulled over with that set-up. I think a attached to the body deal would be a bit more compliant..Just my opinion.

I like what Jantz did on the supper jeep just make them removable.

full hydro lends itself to street driving, just has a slight learning curve to it. It's tends to be a little twitchy

btw, as NIKE has always said, "Just Do It"

I thought about the same thing. I going to keep my Grand streetable. But with full widths and 38" they'll be sticking out a little bit. I know I'll be doing some kind of tube flare also but I had thought of making them removeable. More than likely they'll be perment.

I'll be making some removable tube fenders once i get some free time to do so. I'm kinda thinkin something like a Hitch reciever concept. We'll see how it pans out.

don't lie, it will never happen:flipoff: :kissmyass:

Throw some mud flaps on the back and call it good! My tires stick out probably 12+ inchs past the body and havent been pulled over yet. good luck!

Gawddamnit. Put the forking belt on, load your junk up, and meet us at 9am. :flipoff: Or I'll come over there late tonight and remove your Ford's fenders with my sawzall. :corn:
