Someone gimmie some Rockwell 101
How much strength differences are there between the u-joint style front axle and the ball/cv style? Found a few of both and need to know pros and cons over beefed up 60's/14blts. How bout the turning radius....how bad is it. what are their week points in stock form? are they really worth the extra weight? ect...school me someone please.. fixn to drop some fundage $$ on another build.

ujoint is the way to go. Search on pirate. You will find all your information you seek to make your own decision rather than taking someone's word.

I've broke 3 Bendix shafts in my front (usually while front digging under power) with 44 boggers and never broke rear u-joint shafts (rear steer) I would say U-joints are much stronger and be done with it :dblthumb:

The other joints are stronger than the u joint style, but the u joint axles themselves are stronger than the other shafts. And if your tired of breaking stuff then rocks are the way to go, buy a stock axle throw pinion brakes on it and run till yo :****:u finally break a shaft then upgrade to oversion 2 inchers then you can monster truck **** without worrying about anything again
