I am looking to get into the rock racing/bouncing series. I am wanting a 2 seater with preferably rockwell axles, going to have a "lightweight" 7.3L or 6.0L diesel engine in it. I know ill have to do some diff tube work to the front to accommodate this. Being that I work at a diesel performance shop, this is the best way to rep and get out there on the trails. :dblthumb: Let me know if you have anything or know of anyone looking to sell!! loller.gif

I have been looking at a few on here but they all are complete. If I have to ill part out all that silly gas stuff. molaugh

Make sure that the engine cage is easily removable
So you can work on that 6.0 stroke!! molaugh

Or you need to make the chassis hold the heads down. :****: :woody: loller.gif

There is a reason you don't see diesels in Buggys they don't work well. Get you a fuel injected one and rock out.

Yeah!! Them diesels suck. :flipgotcha: :flipgotcha:

And they are fuel injected!!!

<-------- notice the avatar picture?

Yeah, and you don't see them drag racing either because they are too heavy also right? ????. There is zero reason for me to build a gas buggy in my mind because I know way more about building a fast spooling 650-700rwhp diesel. I understand the weight, and the torque is going to take some work to overcome but it will be a heck of a show if I can get it to all work together!! :spin: :dblthumb:

im all for it brother rock on with it can't wait to see it Rollin coal :woot: :woot: :driving:

I didn't say it couldn't be done, I didn't say it wouldn't look cool, and I know they can make stupid power, just saying I've built a bunch of rigs and the ones with a lot of weight out on the nose act different when your trying to beat on your ****. Good luck with it, it may work out great, and it never hurts to try something.

I totally understand! I have some ideas about the weight transfer, I just need to get with a chassis builder I guess. Might have to start from scratch.

How fast can you build a 7.3 to spin before it slings parts?

4500 or so from what I have found. I am thinking I can gear it right in the axles to make up for some of it though. Who knows, it could be a huge failure!! Worse case is I only trail ride with it, but that's not what u am wanting to build it for.

That is because of the slow burn rate of diesel? What is the lightest conventional diesel engine? I know its not a Cummins or 7.3 PS. 6.0?

Lightest may be the duramax. Diesels run such a high compression ratio and the power stroke injection system is limited by the hydraulic injection system.

Knew this was coming when we talked up at your shop. skully

Get with Angryfab on here...Great guy to deal with! :dblthumb:
