Rotten Eggs = Bad battery??

Glad to hear you found it was a battery. I had this issue with my Jeep about a month ago, I believe it was halfway due to the battery shaking around when one of the mounts broke.

When the sulfer smell started, you could see the battery boiling. Thankfully it looks like it had a vent of some sort so it wouldn't explode. Luckily I kept the Jeep running, because when I got to the parts store and turned it off, I could barely get 9v out of it! Replaced with a yellow top optima and didn't look back!

Another interesting battery story... my mom's old 2000 Montana Van had the OEM battery in it until Spring of 2009. I've never seen a car battery last that long!

What's funny is consumer reports recently rated costco batteries above interstate models. :eeek:

Thats because CR is usually full of ****. Honda Ridgeline is the top recommended full size truck. :haha: :haha: :eeek: :eeek::puke:

Sounds like a Duramax. The o-ring for the water sensor are known to leak and cause those issues. When they start doing that we replace the sensor at the same time. They cheap. This assuming you have a duramax:redneck:

now to just deal with a fuel issue.... I think I got a leak or pin-hole at the filter housing somewhere. Looses "prime" over night it the truck's parked at any angle other than slightly nose-down..... So it will start and run for a few long seconds, then sputter out (like it used all the fuel in the filter), then I have to use the primer pump a dozen times or so and it will start back up and run fine for the rest of the day.
