I have an RSI tank and the seal under the filler cap is leaking now normally I would just put a new gasket and call it good but I have been using this tank for less then 6 months

Is this normal to go through these gaskets?
Can I just use RTV or something like that?
I have a new gasket on order from summit but I don't think it should had failed this soon?

I made my own gasket for the cell in buggy and if I spend "all" day playing on verts at the end of the day there will be some slight dampness around the filler area.I even have the threads sealed with Mr,Gasket aviation thread sealer.Gas will find it's way out even though a tank holds air pressure and doesn't leak down.

ah that is what is happening I just noticed when I was cleaning the jeep yesterday that I had a dirt pattern and it smelled of gas this is only the second time but I didn't want it to get worse but it sounds like I will get some leakage any way.
