From eariler post Paulie wrote about purging the ARB air line, so I thought I would do that and see what I would find. On the rear ( which has been acting up alittle) I found it to be full of SAE90 from the carrier. I ran the compressor to blow out the line, but am sure there is still oil in the line to the carrirer and the ARB unit itself. Is this a sign of something going out or is this normal for the ARB's. Any options of the trouble?

iTS normal bruce.....

Mike,
would the line being full or atleast alot of oil in it make the ARB not engage, so it's kinda like a maintaince thing would be to purge the lines? thanks for help.

I pop my lines off every 8 months or so. The oil won't stop the diff from working but will slow down the engagement/disengagement...

Do you need to try to use vaccume or something to clean out the carrier line and unit or could you use high pressure air from the home compressor to blow out the carrirer line inside the diff. Is just clearing the line good enough, and not to worry about the oil left in the carrier.

Here is how I do it bruce. remove the line from the diff. remove the line at the soloniod. blow a bunch of brake clean in to the line and put it back onto the soloniod. turn the soloniod on and blow the line out. repeat 2 more times and you are golden....

Sweetness, I just used a cable luber that I had layin around from the MX days and that thing is the boss. It has stepus in the rubber base to clamp around different size cables and the largest one was able to clamp aound the soloniod end, then I just plugged in the brake cleaner can and blew away until I heard a diffeent sound coming out the back of the TJ.. Crawled under the rear and clear brake clean was still dripping out of the line.
Done deal..:clappy: :clappy:
