i think this came up in the random thoughts thread a while ago. this what i have done seems to work very well. just take out the valve core.

We sell these spouts where I work...greatest thing ever. Take all that safety bullcrap off and toss it in the dumpster. The spout comes with a simple vent you snap in and has the old flexible spout like they used to be.

I've converted my cans with these kits. I can dump 5 gallons in about 45 seconds.

this is probbly the cheapest fix just a $2 valve stem or im sure most have them laying around the gargae and trust me works very well
