is anyone running these quick disconnects to mount their seat belts and is there any safety issues I should be concerned with if I use them? I sure like the option to remove the belts anytime I wash the rig or if I just don't want any passengers that day.

All of the aftermarket belts I've seen come with the fixed end sewn on the belt....You could cut it off and use a buckle on that end but the buckles take up quite a bit of room so you may not have enough belt to tighten it up.
But to answer your question no I haven't used those.

My previous buggy had those as I got them at the race car swap meet for cheap. I just safety wired the gate shut and checked them periodically.....never an issue. The safety wire would make popping them in and out a hassle.......as far as passengers.....just grow a pair and tell people no:rolleyes:

Thats what I run in my rig, have had the same set for years (15-20) in several different rigs and never had a problem with the gate coming undone. Sometimes mud gets in there and you have to wash it out to be able to work the gate but thats no big deal.
