What belts is everyone running. I am building a new bouncer and it is about time to get the belts. I have the cobaeu ultra ss wide seats. I have the same seat in one of my vw rail buggies with gforce 5 point harness 3" wide. They are hard to get through the seat belt holes in the seat if you have to take the seats out. I was wondering about running the 2" 5 point harness. Does anyone run them in your bouncers? What is the best brand belts to get?

I haven't used mine yet but, I went with 3" Crow. They seem like they are going to be much more comfortable than the 3" G force harnesses in my buddy's old rig.

I run the 3" because I feel they are more comfortable and I wear them 100% of the time. I use the G-Force Cam Lock style. I also have a Benchmade Seat belt cutter attached to one to the "tails" of the shoulder harneses, just in case of a manfunction. There is no way to get in your pocket for your knife upside down! I also run the sub belt in both of my rigs. I feel they are a critical part of the seat belts safety factor, keeping the lap belt across the pelvis bone.

I also run seat belt pads.

My Courbeaus are pretty comfy, doesn't bother me a bit to wear them. Just lap belt and both over the shoulder standrd 4 point harness with the Corbeau pads.

Size: Beer Belly :drinkers:

I have a set of 5 point PRP 2" padded shoulders so it adds just a little more width. They are very comfortable and easy to adjust.

All I have ever ran is gforce. And if u don't go 5 point you will regret it.

PRP 5.3 harnesses PERIOD

you can get them in the standard pull down to tighten lap belt configuration or request pull up style.

Do the "pull up" style stay tight? wasn't there a ratcheting style also? I seem to remember a thread on pirate about different belts and what worked better. I would like to get new seats and harnesses this year.

I have RCIs but only because my uncle gives them to me because of the date, he runs a drag car so they are picky about those things. I've got them in a POS XJ so it's less of an issue. I get a new set every 3 years or so.

The pull up style stay tight better and are easier to tighten down.

I ran prp 5.3 pull up in my ecors race truck. Way better than the g force, rjs, and crow I have ran before.

I currently have pro armor 2" H style in a rig and really like them for trail riding. Much quicker to get on when your in and out of the truck.

For a bouncer or race rig I'd run regular 5 points, because when you release them, all the straps come loose at once.

I run racequip brand 5pt latch style belts in my Jeep. 3" shoulders. My wife said they rubbed on her neck so I added some Corbeau pads on the shoulders and they are great. I definitely like the extra padding and wouldn't hesitate to get a set w/ the sewn in pads in the future.

I agree with John on the 5pt as well over the 4pt. Its really annoying trying to strap in tight when the lap belt pulls up your stomach every time you tighten the shoulders.

Yeah I have been in it long enough to know there is no way I would do a 4 point. The gforce 3" that I have in my vw railbuggy also rubs my neck raw. I also try to stay out of the mud but sometimes I could not help it and now they are harder to adjust. I have been looking at the prp belts one for the padding and 2 because they are supposed to not have the adjusting problem after getting muddy and wet. Since I will be in a higher vehicle and dont have to worry about sucking mud into the motor and of course alot widder I will not be able to run around the mud so im expecting they will get it alot. I have also looked at the pro armor belts for the simple fact of they have the sholder straps mounted to the lap belts, but im not sure about getting out of them fast when I need to. I have not had any experiance with the pull up or the ratchet style harnesses and thought about running the 2" thinking it might help the raw neck. Im afraid the 2" might feel like it is trying to cut my sholders off after a while of riding.

Re:

DJ safety 5 point 3". Integrated pads for neck / shoulder comfort. Extra spring in the shoulder adjusters to keep them from coming loose.

x2, I had RCI platinum 5 points and they were nice till I got the prp's. These are so nice, won't run anything else from now on.

I have ratcheting PRP harnesses in my U4 car and they a are the tits!!! You need some real estate for the mechanism but if you have it they are great. My chassis is 54" at the B pillar and they are tight between the seats. Any narrower and it likely wouldn't work.

I run the 2in crow with padded shoulders and I have been happy with them!!!

X2, I have them in my toyota and am happy with them. A buddy has the 3" G force in his truck and I'm not a fan, it just seems like there is too much harness all over the place, but anything is better than seatbelts.
