I think I listed my Dodge on Traderonline and felt like I didn't get enough hits.
Is there a better place on teh web to list, ebay, cars.com or otherwise?
It is kind of a niche thing as its a 1 ton with more spring in the rear and 19.5's ready to tow, so car sites might not fit.

let me drive it around with a for sale sign in it. seriously craigslist is about the best, I think my grand pa sold his dodge on ebay though.

When I got serious about selling my ford w/ cummins, I had it detailed, took some decent pictures, and posted it on every diesel forum I could think of. It was gone in less than a week.

Sold my last truck on CL in 2 days for $500 less than asking price. Was very pleased.

Had it listed on trader and never got a single call from anyone but dealers trying to low-ball me from there.

You know Trader is no longer a printed publication? They don't sell their mags at gas stations anymore. Believe it or not, there is still a huge amount of dudes that buy trucks that plain just don't go online. I think that was a major mistake on Trader's part. Back when they had a printed mag I sold several vehicles quickly and effectively through them.

Yeah I don't understand people that sell a high dollar vehicle and don't take the time to detail it and make it look like it is worth the money...

I just had it polished and waxed, polished the wheels and had the interior done. The only thing in those pics is the cleaning stuff (cheesy) and the phone charger. I agree I need a new set of pics as the "change engine oil soon" light is on in one and the leather treatment and interior cleaner on the floor is pretty gay.

another thing I would do is get a video camara and walk around the truck and show the outside, bed, tail gate opening and closing, hood, engine, bla bla bla, fire it up and drive it around a little bit then post it on you tube. It would show them before they even make a trip that its a decent truck. That what I plan on doing wheel i try selling the heep

Wasn't direct at you although the interior doesn't look great in yours. Exterior does. Regardless if it is a high dollar buggy, or truck take the time to make it look the part and make a good for sale thread.

Either a center cap on the rear wheel or paint the hub black :****: Little **** like that bugs me as well as the scratches that appear from the camera flash on the radio area.

My photo critique. It doesnt mean ****, but maybe some pointers as I see them. I know my truck pics were terrible when I sold mine. Sun was in the wrong place (too high) but I had a finite time to take the pics before it started raining after I had it full detailed.

All your pics from your add:

First, put a space in between each pic. In your add it looks like a movie reel. I HATE THAT!
Second, black trucks are hard as **** to photograph.

I like this pic/angle of the truck, but the background is too cluttered. Drive the truck out to the top of the dike in the bottoms and shoot from there where there is nothing to clutter the pics aside from the truck.

Angle is bad with the sun, so you get the chrome flash. Background clutter again. And notice the reflections in the black paint. Is that Heath standing there watching you take a pic? Huge shadows in the foreground are distracting

Good angle for black and the sun, you can see that the body is straight here. but it still appears as though a tree is growing out of it. Huge shadows in the foreground are distracting

Adjust the seats all the way back to cover the track, the track is dirty as hell, and ugly. Clean the **** off the floor, and you should have shot from the other side where you wouldnt have the huge amount of sun contrast.

This pic shows up wierd sized/skewed to me. Everything looks scrunched. Whats that on the center console, on the floor, and remove the cell charger. Wipe the freaking pedals. Now turn the truck around and take nearly the same pic without all of the sun wash that is bleaching out the seats in the pic, and highlighting the drivers seat wear.

Good pic except you can see your jeans are freaking disgusting dirty. That tells me that the guy that owns this truck gets in and out of it filthy, I'd like to think the truck I'm buying isn't filthy or treated that way. Also on the message center, Scroll it to the Odometer

Stretched pic, turn off your flash, and shoot this from the backseat. Clean the dirt out of the cubbyhole, and take a windex towel to the dash. It looks like someone ate a bucket of KFC then smired their hands all over the dash and buttons. Looks ArmourAll greasy, which is gross.

I dont think this pic is necessary, but if it is, why not wipe the case off, and set it on the tailgate with the owners manual, and diesel supplement and take a pic of all together.

As Bones said the center cap deal is funny to me as well.
But this pic is so bad. All the background clutter, the bad reflection from the sun, the focus is the rearwheel well which is dirty, and the sun wash makes the real wheel look bad oxidized. Plus the foreground has another car in it, plus shadows.

Wyatt pretty much summed it all up. All very good points. Definately move the truck to an open field or just somewhere where house and trucks are not in the background. Also spend some more time on the interior and those shots looked strange like they were stretched up and down.

Picture critiques from Wyatt.

I laughed out loud and then I realized the lazy bastard was right yet unwilling to do so in his own sale threads....
