Does any one make a dirt track style shifter that's cable operated? The only ones I can find use a shift rod and the way my console is made the rod style won't work. ??? Thanks in advance :dblthumb:

I don't think anyone sells one particularly for this but I see no reason why you couldn't modifie a cable used for tcase shifters on a dirt track shifter, northwest fab sells cables and some other companies

I was hoping maybe someone has converted one to a cable shifter and would post a picture of it. The way my luck goes by the time I buy parts and try to make one and screw them up I'll have spent twice the money it would of cost to buy a good shifter. I just like the looks of dirt track style.

Re: Re: Shifter question

You can buy b&m and winters/artcarr/cheetah shift cables separate.
Or a generic control cable from an industrial supply place like Midwest control.
Just get one the length you need and a cheap dirt track handle

It also help if u posted what u putting it on sure outta all the rigs and fabricators and riggers on here some now how to do it get it done or do it

It's going in a wrangler on a tubo 350. Don't have a home computer, I'm a poor :afro: using my wife's iPad which is supplied from her work. Can't post pictures with it

Guess I should have an acer ;D.my buddy's shifter looks just like yours and that's exactly what I don't want mine to look like. I'm sure it works great like his but looks like ****.

If ya mount it in the and actually use the boot don't look bad but :drinkers: and wanting to go :driving: leads to cut corners and bad calls sometimes but it works molaugh

in the pic thats not a dirt car shifter its a B&M i have the same shifter with the gates cut out of it

Use the heims in the kit and an additional nut.
Take a piece of angle and drill a hole on one side to thread heim through and bolt to shifter and shift arm on tranny.
Drill hole on other side and thread Shift cable through and tighten up.

DONE.
