Doing a coil spring suspension on 1-ton CJ . Can't afford the coilovers right now. So went with TJ coils . What shocks would you run, that won't break bank ? And do you lock in upper spring or leave loose with guide heard doit both ways ? Thank's

I would run a limit strap or capture the springs. When the springs drop out of the mount that side, the suspension will have to "freefall" back down till the spring is back in the mount where it can work again. Really no gains unless you want to look good on a RTI ramp :gay:

For shock look into some smooth body rebuildable/ revalveable shocks so you can adjust them to work as needed. FOX, Sway-a-way etc.

I'll bolt the top of the springs. I've just 4-linked the rear so far and hopefully when I do the front i will do coilovers .But as far as the shock i'm saving money for coilovers or ORI. So really don't want to buy real expensive shocks . Around a hundred each would be ok . But i may end up liking the TJ coils spring and stick with them. Then I can buy better shocks for the coils . 5100s or 9000s or what? I just don't want to by to cheap and they last one ride .Thanks

I ran 1" lift rear TJ springs on the rear of my Jeep for a while with some cheap ass white shocks. Other than being a little soft on compression them worked fine for over a year. Don't the Rancho 9000's come with a knob for a little adjustment?
