I have been working out which way would be better to go with RubyDoo.

With these JK's you can go up to a 4" short arm lift and yes you can fit 37's with this option. Or I could just say screw it and go with a 4" long arm lift that costs $1000.00 more and still have 37's or if i wanted to later i can upgrade the springs and get 6" of lift by just changing the springs. The only problem i see is that if i keep going taller, I will not be able to fit height wise on some of the trails.

With the gears that are in her (Thanks Darrin) i can go with 37's and be fine and thinking that going anybigger would be just a waste.

Thaughts and Ideas are always a good thing.

Taller than 37s on a 2 dr JK is really pushing it. Rubicon axles are probably fine with 37s, but beyond that and you'll want 60s. Unless you're planning on taller than 37s, run a 4" short arm.

I ordered the 4" Currie Rock Jock suspension for my 2008 Rubicon Unlimited after doing a ton of research. Should clear 37" MTRs nicely.

4" long arm. IMO 6" isn't an upgrade, just taller. Tall is lame. Low COG is

On a JK go longarm. If you had a TJ you shouldn't.

The Rubicon Express longarm kits were first designed for the TJ's and on that model you lost a lot of ground clearance over a short arms / tummy tuck combo.

Longarm kits (RE) seem to fit and tuck up much cleaner on a JK, you won't loose ground clearance and it will ride very smoothly on the trail. You mention 37's: if your go that big you will be in a whole new world and will be amazed where you can go. Don't worry about excess cab height, but you will need to worry about rollovers and breaking front U joints, those will be your biggest limitations.

The RE JK longarm kits have the thumbs up from Chrysler and will be an approved dealer installed options soon.

Kat, GO LONGARM!!! As stated earlier, you WILL eventually be doing it anyhow!!!:redneck: They DO ride much nicer with it!!!(Not to mention flex better....)

Yup, I know Richard is reallllly happy with his LA. Hope to go that way sometime.

Hey Tig, Why OK on JK but not TJ? Seems to me a lot of TJ's run long arm with great success.

go long arm as duck said better ride more flex....then you can get some pics with ruby flexed out and the tires on the ground:redneck:

longarm, a problem I've seen before, and now that I have replaced every axle end control arm mount on nike's jeep (due to fatigue from twist) short arm is gay, and ride's terrible, they are not suspension system's, they are lift kits only.

go with the 4" long arm.it will ride much better on the street.and also don't go cheap with the shock either

Where is the poll?:redneck:

4" LA, 37" tires.......exo.:redneck: :redneck:

Don't forget flares that don't fall off at the thought of wheelin'!!!:haha: Better yet---Tube Fenders!!!:awesomework:

Kat, you need to get ahold of Richard (Silver '05 TJ Unlimited) in our club, I forget which long arm kit he's got, but as Duck Dodgers stated, He's REALLY HAPPY with his setup! He did his research on this before buying his---Definitely doesn't regret it!!!

Seems like most people here recommending the long arm are speaking from TJ experience which is a whole different animal. The factory length JK arms are not nearly as short as factory TJ arms.

Wouldn't a longer arm give you better geometry?
