...only getting this much flex from my setup? I'm running AP 5" stock length fronts, F150 rears, 5125's at each corner (14", I KNOW the fronts are too long, 4-5" of up travel). I'm only getting about 20" under the tire. Granted, I haven't wheeled it (front shaft and gears not done yet), just a couple thousand road miles on the springs and the tires are at street pressure, but I just was figuring on more. I already loosened the shackles up to where they should have been and got a big improvement there, but it seems like it's not doing what it could or should.
*EDIT* Yes, I know, my "ramp" is sketchy as hell.

Fresh install? It looks like your front shocks are to long not allowing enough up travel.

Yes I read the post........

Kinda fresh, suspension was done when I got the truck and on it while it sat for a year till I got it roadworthy again. Yes, the shocks are the problem in the front, springs don't even get all the way flat with them. With all the talk of how great F150's were, I expected a bit more in the rear, will they be more willing once the front hits the stops? I want to get the rest of the setup done before I set my bump stop height. A shock switch in the front needs to be made, to some sort of 12" travel. (anyone got a recommendation? Needs to mount like the Bilsteins)

If it was me I would take the front shocks off and ramp in until the front springs are flat. Measure the distance you have between the mounts then (a) get a set of shocks that fits correctly or (b) move the hoops up to accommodate the shocks you have now. Then you can make bumpstops or use the shocks as bumpstops.:D

Then I would possibly take a leaf out of the rear.......

im kinda dumb but it looks as if the front shocks arent bottomed out (close).
the springs have stopped first. i always used the f150 springs in the front. the rear of your truck does not weigh enough to break them down.:awesomework:

I agree, take off the shocks and retest. I have the All-Pro 4" springs up front (longer) with Trail-Gear 4" 56"s out back. I have always cared more about downtravel than uptravel, anyway. But, looking at your photos, you do not have near enough travel for what is on your rig. My Trail-Gears broke in WAY before my fronts... I am still waiting for that. 3k and several wheeling trips, including Naches and Liberty, and the frontend is still stiff, while the rearend sits about 1" lower and softer...

I can say, though, that I have not let my frontend get too overarched yet, as I have bumpstops up front that limit this. I plan to remove them and do a hard run up the basin!

I would think F-150 springs are a bit heavy for a yota rear... try some BroncoII springs.

They're pretty soft actually, they're half ton springs when used with a torsion(?) shackle, not a compression shackle. CHOP SHOP, I stopped before the shocks bottomed out, there's still a little bit of shaft showing there, but only 1/2" or so. There is an overload I can take out of the F150 packs, I'll try that along with testing minus shocks.

Do you have the 57" F150's? How many leafs are in the pack?

I ran those for a LONG time.... they are super soft, and always flexed like a bastard for me. What does your shackle angle look like (front and back)???

are your f150 springs out of a 2x4 or 4x4?? your on the right track with the ford springs just put em in the front and get some 64 inch chevs for the rear.
those all price springs are a POS. if you cage and whinch the truck then abuse it, those things will bend. the chev and ford springs are tough and have rubber bushings (poly sucks on springs).:awesomework:
