Anyone got insurance covering accidents with their buggies. While at Shamrock some guy was looking at my buggy and got to close, I almost hit him.
If I had and he was a jerk could he have sued me. Is there any type of insurance that covers this? There are always plenty of buzzards looking around at the buggies and I would never mean to hurt anyone, but if they get hit what happens? Theres a video of Timmie C. almost taking out several people on top of Good Bad and Ugly "I think" what could have happened?

Maybe I just worry to much.

That is what liability insurance is for.

No full coverage needed.

Liability is cheap. Insure yourself for what someone could take from you......or close.

Nolen can you elaborate. Who will sell it for buggies. I have Farmers on all my crap, and I contacted them about insuring my buggy, and they wouldn't touch it. No VIN, and its for offroad, "SORRY, We cant insure that" is what I got.

I saw that thread on Pirate recently about the guy that got Fire and theft coverage qouted from State Farm I believe and they wanted $3600 a year.

I'm worried about 2 things. Hurting someone, and haivng my **** jacked off the trailer while its sitting in a motel parking lot.

I was mostly worried about someone taking everything I own, because the were stupid enough to get it my way, or to close to the trail and get hit.

The stolen crap is insurred by Smith and Wesson.

We made the race team an L.L.C. and only ins. for stolen stuff. My Ins. would not touch the buggy at comps. that is why we made the race team an L.L.C. so I dont lose personal stuff if things go wrong. Maybe Nolan can help us out on this stuff. It is talked about alot on pirate4x4 in the comp. fourms and round tables.

Heath tried to kill me.... but Im such a badass, I just pushed his buggy over laughing1

i have always assigned a VIN from a wrecked car to my buggies. Stamp it into the frame and call it a 77 landcruser and get liability through my USAA account.

That has crossed my mind so many times, but then do you have to go get agreed on value type insurance. Cause I'm sure the value of an '88 CJ or whatever isn't going to be **** if ins. were to have to pay. But it would definately work for liability.
Mike I know what you said about LLC but I have always been under the impression LLC doesn't fully protect you in the event of injurying a bystander or individual. I'd been told legally they could still go after you personally, or through the LLC. I'm no lawyer so i dont really know. But would like advice on that. Why can't this **** be easy?

An LLC protects you personally. The plaintiff can only sue your business.

example.... If you register your race team as Triple Nickel Racing, LLC and you injure someone on the trail, even if it is recreational wheeling, you can claim it as a business liability (practice). Also, if you title your truck in the company name and are involved in an accident, that would protect you also. Of course, you will need to carry a reasonable amount of liability insurance, associated with the business, but that is fairly inexpensive when you consider the alternative.

That is right from what I have been told. An L.L.C. is very easy to set up. I have a lawer that looks it over though. It might be something that we all talk about one night at GRAY ROCKs, wanted to make sure I got it right this time.

Nolan you mad at me, I have not got any SMACKS from you about anything lately :dunno:

Did I read somewhere that you sold insurance? You think that will stand up just fine?

It sounds so much easier than anything else I've heard.

I dont do that kind of insurance.

I won't make that kind of call. I have never had a liabilty claim so I dont know if it will stand up. Dont see any reason it would not though.
