since i can no longer use the skidplates i have, i was wondering if there is anything out there to protect my engine bay from getting water and mud splashed up in it. can i use a stock skidplate from a pre-85 rig?

Don't go hauling butt thru pudles. I tossed mine like 8 years ago...

i dont. i just like to keep my engine bay somewhat clean.

The engine bay gets dirty from the fan and your not going to keep that out---thats why I turn mine off in deep water/mud.... You can usually eat off my engine :;

The main pace water and mud enter is through the wheelwells unless you are in water so deep your fan is playing motorboat in it. And in that case a skid plate won't help you anyway.

X2 toss t in the weeds and don't look back.
